Plot for his indefinite suspension thickens.

The feud between the governor and members of the Imo State House of Assembly that culminated in the recent suspension of the former Majority Leader and member, representing, Owerri Municipal council, Chief Lugard Osuji, has taken a dramatic turn, as the governor, was said to have shunned and ignored the

legislator at Abuja.

According to a government house source, the embattled legislator, got wind of the governor’s trip to Abuja and went there to see and possibly, ask him for forgiveness. On reaching there, the governor was said to have bluntly refused to grant him audience. “Hon. Lugard Osuji was crest fallen and dejectedly, walked away, in obvious regret.”

Meanwhile, the APC chairman in his, Owerri Municipal Council, Nze Alex Ohanwe, is said to be popping champagne, in celebration of what he calls “Lugard Osuji’s well deserved and long over due suspension”.

Members of the Anglican Church, where he worships are also said to be celebrating his suspension, which they allegedly see as nemesis, catching up with him for forcefully, appropriating their land, at New Owerri where he erected his personal building. 

Some indigenes and residents of Owerri municipal council, who confided in this reporter expressed dismay at Hon. Osuji’s unbridled pride, arrogance and show of power. “He is self-conscious, lacks humility and does not care about the needs and feelings of the people, he is supposed to be representing. He thinks he is there, for himself alone”.
