The people of Umuaka ward 4 in Njaba local government area have declared their support for the Imo House of Assembly seat ambition of their son, Chief (Dr.) Perry Uchenna Ekwunazu in the 2019 election.

Speaking at the occasion of the endorsement ceremony and the official declaration of his intention to Umuaka ward 4, Chief Perry Ekwunazu thanked the members of PDP who collapsed into APC simply because he is involved, for such a laudable gesture and promised to bring to bear his administrative and American experience to develop the area.

Also speaking at the event last Friday, 3rd March, 2019, the commissioner for Community Government Council (CGC), Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, Hon. Chief Louis Duru said it is now the turn of Umuaka ward 4 to produce a member of Imo state House of Assembly and thanked Chief Perry Ekwunazu for his acceptance to serve the people. He described Chief Perry Ekwunazu as a philanthropist of note in whose benevolence lies the hopes and aspirations of the downtrodden as his foundation “Perry Ekwunazu Foundation” has remained a life wire to many people and envisaged that Chief Ekwunazu will not disappoint them.

In his contribution, a fore most political leader in Njaba LGA, Chief Raph Nnaji, described the aspiration of Chief Ekwunazu as a dream come true. He maintained that about 31 years ago, he had intended to run for the state House of Assembly during the old Nkwerre/Isu council but his dream was scuttled by the military.

He also prayed that the ambition of Chief Perry Ekwunazu would be realized to help the people who are eagerly yearning for a better legislative representation.

Others who spoke at the event included, Hon. Timothy Chiamakor, Umuaka ward 4 APC Chairman and the leader of PDP decampees, Chief Mathew Nnaka who expressed their unalloyed support and determination to work towards the success of the project as well as Prince Benjamin Nnaka who also said that Umuaka from ward 1-4 are now in APC to deliver their son Chief Ekwunazu who he described as their future hope.

The highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the campaign leaders including the facilitators under the aegis of “Njaba Solidarity Movement”. They were as follows; Hon. Barnabas Duru from Nkwume ward 4, as the Director General while Hon. V.C Uchendu are the Deputy Director General. Others are Hon. Isreal Uzodiegwu, Coordinator Umuaka ward 4 and all the APC excos of Umuaka ward 4 as members.

Speaking on behalf of Chief Ekwunazu campaign office, the DG, Hon. Barnabas Duru (pillars) former Chairman St. Michael Catholic Paris Nkwuma, thanked the solidarity movement and Think Tank members of Chief Perry Ekwunazu foundation for finding him worthy for such an exalted position and promised to deliver while he used the occasion to offer a special thanksgiving and prayers to God for a sustainable project.
