The Scripture Union (Nig) Owerri Area has concluded its Easter Pilgrims and Mission Conference with the Theme “FROM GLORY TO GLORY” (2 Cor. 3:18) which derived from the Bible Exposition selected from Joshua Chapters one to six.
Addressing the brethren during the conference, Evangelist Sunday Oguche stressed the need for professing Christians to always obey the word of God and avoid sinful compromise to attract God’s Divine favour, protection and guidance to sustain their intimacy with God. He also cautioned against hypocrisy, sexual immorality and other sinful indulgence as God requires total obedience and absolute trust in Him, He maintained that these attributes enabled Joshua to become very successful and courageous in achieving his God-given victory over his enemies.
Evangelist Oguche who is also the Founder of the “Evergreen Foundation Schools for Orphans” Owerri, encouraged Christians to be committed in winning souls for God through aggressive evangelism coupled with fervent prayers. He reminded Christians that the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His resurrection from death should motivate Church leaders and the Christians to regard themselves as being crucified with CHRIST by yielding themselves to the Holy Spirit to enable them become useful instruments in leading lost souls to genuine repentance.
In his welcome address, the Area Chairman of the Scripture Union (Nig) Owerri Area, Brother Cliff Ndupuh reminded Christians that they are sustained by the power of God; hence they should fully appreciate Him for His various interventions which deliver them from evil forces. He therefore encouraged them to render productive and result-oriented services to enhance the progress of the Scripture Union Ministry. He also commended the Brethren for their various sacrificial and financial commitments towards enabling the Owerri Area of the Scripture Union Ministry to recover and stabilize its facilities.
Brother Ndupuh admonished the Christian Brethren to persevere through fervent prayers and soul winning evangelism coupled with mobilizing all their God-given resources for intensified efforts in fulfilling their specific ministry thrust and in reaching the children, youths and students with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. He called for the cooperation of all the zonal Representatives and Group Presidents of the Union to ensure proper coverage of the IMSUBEB Primary School moral instruction program formally assigned to them by the LORD as well as sustaining the establishment of functional Bible Clubs and Missionary work to ensure durable revival within the Owerri Area of the Scripture Union Ministry.
In his Easter Message to all the Areas in the Okigwe Region of the Scripture Union (Nig), the Regional Chairman, Scripture Union (Nig) Okigwe Region, Engr. Dr. B. C. Okoro charged the brethren on absolute obedience to the word of God in order to succeed in their faithful services to God and cautioned against pretending to live a good life without inward change as such a hypocritical lifestyle has no reward.
Engr. Okoro urged those present to always apply all that they have learnt from the Easter family and Missions Awareness Conference, which held in Owerri and elsewhere in order to sustain their good relationship with God. He also urged Christians to always portray themselves as true representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ by exhibiting Godly character and performing their respective assignments in their various Scripture Union formations with a view to sustaining the progress and development of Scripture Union programmes.
The Traveling Secretary, Engr. Samuel Ikoyi, in his own contribution expressed immense appreciation for the success of the Conference organized by the Scripture Union (Nig) in the Owerri Area. He advised the officials and participants at the Conference to be continually yield themselves as true vessels of honour to be used by God in fulfilling divine mandate in their respective Scripture Union groups.
A former Governorship Candidate in Imo State, Elder (Dr) George 0. Ibeatuche (JP) was among the numerous Christian brethren who participated in the Scripture Union (Nig) Owerri Area 2018 Easter Pilgrims and Missions Conference.
