Chief Edwin Ihenacho, popularly known as Okuenyeremba, an American trained security expert and philanthropist, has emerged as the APC candidate for the Orlu, Orsu, and Oru federal constituency in the rescheduled primary election of the party conducted recently.

In what could be described as a landslide victory, in the free, fair and transparent election, Okuenyeremba polled 28,828 votes, while his closest opponent Chief Ihezuo polled 15,300 votes to place second.

As at the time of filing this report, Chief Ihenacho is said to be in Abuja to collect his certificate of return, while it is reported that there are moves to rob him of victory. However, some of his constituents have expressed concern over such alleged attempts to deny Chief Iheanacho, who is their choice candidate his hard earned victory.

One of Chief Iheanacho’s strong supporters, Chief Emeka Nwachukwu, who spoke to our reporter, averred that “any attempt by those who lost in the exercise to manipulate the result which is widely adjudged to be credible, free and fair is fraudulent, absolutely unacceptable and will be vehemently resisted”. He also posited that, Okuenyeremba, from all indication is the best option for Orlu, Orsu and Oru East federal constituency in view of his philanthropic disposition and selfless service to God and humanity. Besides, he hails from the Isu clan, whose turn it is to produce the next legislator for the area.

Responding to his victory, Chief Ihenacho reiterated his commitment to effective representation while urging those who lost out in the primary election to team up with him to ensure that APC in Orlu wins all the positions.
