His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo state, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha CON, KSC, yesterday, June 3, 2019, swore-in Rt. Hon Barr. Uche Onyeagucha as the new Secretary to the State Government. The oath of office and oath of allegiance were administered on the former federal legislator by the Chief Judge of the state, Hon Justice Paschal Nnadi, at the Executive Chambers of Government House, Owerri.

In his brief remark, the Governor described the office of the Secretary to Imo State Government as the engine room of the Government.

He expressed confidence on the new SSG and charged him to endeavour to uphold the confidence reposed on him.

In his reaction, the new (SGI) Chief Uche Onyeagocha, who spoke in his dialect, thanked the Governor for the appointment and promised his unwavering support to the Governor. He assured to dedicate himself to selfless service devoid of any form of discrimination or clannishness.

Those present at the swearing-in ceremony include , the Deputy Governor, Hon Gerald Irona, the new Speaker of the state House of Assembly Rt. Hon Chinedu Offor, the Chief Judge of the state, Hon Justice Paschal Nnadi, who administered the oath, Head of Service, Chairman Imo state Council of Ndi Eze, HRM Eze Samuel Ohiri, the state PDP Chairman,Ezekwem and other dignitaries and well wishers of the appointees.

Meanwhile a cross section of Imolites have commended Governor Ihedioha, for appointing Barr. (Hon) Uche Onyeagocha, as the SSG.

According to them, the appointment is well deserved and a mark of confidence reposed in the former House of Representatives member for Owerri federal constituency, who fought doggedly for the victory of the PDP candidate in the last election.
