Former member of the House of the Federal House of Representatives for Oshodi/Isolo and Imo UPP governorship candidate, Hon. Tony Nwulu, has spoken against the dastardly act perpetrated recently by the youngest Senator of the Federal Republic and greatest beneficiary of the “Not Too Young To Run Bill”, he initiated, Senator Elisha Isyaku Abbo.

Reacting to allegations of physical assault and molestations of a pregnant woman which has gone viral in the social media, involving Senator Elisha Abbo, PDP, Adamawa State, the Aboh Mbaise born ex-Federal Legislator, Nwulu, said, “the Not Too Young To Run Movement, strongly condemns this assault and calls on the relevant security agencies to investigate the report of battery against the female, without further delay”.

While dissociating his movement, to which he is Chief sponsor and National Co-ordinator, from any form of discrimination and molestation against women, Hon. Tony Nwulu, posited that investigation of and prosecuting the culprit, would rub-off on the Senate. He restated that the Nigerian youths, for whom he packaged and presented the “Not Too Young To Run Bill”, is instead very hardworking, decent and committed to building a great country, despite the despicable act of ignominy by Senator Abbo, and a few others.

“However, as a movement, we are conscious of the various commentaries on this ignoble action but want to reassure the Nigerian youths and the people, that this is not a true reflection of who we are”, he said. He also called on youths to be guided by the pristine character of sobriety, morality, principles and competence, in all spheres of life.

Meanwhile, former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayoke, has joined other concerned citizens to condemn the physical assault meted out of the yet to be identified lady long before the 9th Senate was inaugurated.

In his reaction, the outspoken Ex-Minister said, “the act is an utterly barbaric, and shameful behaviour from Senator Elisha Isyaku Abbo”.

He urged the victim to immediately go to court and seek redress, while calling for the arrest and prosecution of the culprit, which action he described as unacceptable. Abbo had while ordering the arrest of the lady, victim of his bad temperament accused her of taking sides with a seller of sex toys, who earlier addressed Nigerian’s youngest Senator, as a drunkard.
