Recovery Of Looted Fund: Emirs, FG Can’t Deter Us From Demanding Rochas’ Probe,Group Insists

Addressing newsmen, shortly after an emergency meeting of the group in Owerri, the National Coordinator, Prince Chidi Obi, stated that the extraordinary emergency meeting they held is to review the development and the news making the rounds that, the federal government and some Emirs are calling on Governor Emeka Ihedioha, not to probe Okorocha.

Obi stated that Imo people must unite to ensure that fraud is not institutionalized in Imo, stating that should the present administration fail to probe Okorocha, what it means is that corruption would have been domesticated in Imo.

He recalled how the past administration ran government without recourse to due process and adherence to constitutional provisions. “Imo is bleeding. That is why we are agitating that the present administration does the needful so that all those who led it to bleed will be caught up with the law”, Obi Stated.

Continuing, Prince Obi commended the groups that recently protested in Owerri, especially the Chief Emeka Diwe, led Town Union leaders, from the 600 autonomous communities in the state for taking the lead.

He revealed that in due time, Imo good governance team will be left with no other option than to protest on the streets of Owerri, to press home some of their demands, that the immediate past governor and his cronies be brought to account for their dealings while in office.

The Emekuku Owerri North LGA born Prince, also used the opportunity to advise the federal government to steer clear of Imo State and it’s new government under Emeka Ihedioha. He noted that President Buhari can’t be fighting corruption whereas corruption is fast being domesticated in his government. He also advised Governor Rochas Okorocha, to shun media rantings and return every property belonging to Imo State.
