Amucha Community In Njaba To Celebrate New Yam Festival, Oct. 19

The Amucha Ancient Kingdom of Njaba local government council under the rulership of, His Royal Majesty, Eze C.O Ofoegbu (Okwaraji II) the Eze in Council and the entire community will on Saturday, October 19, 2019, troop out in their numbers; men, women, youth, children, inlaws, well wishers and guests to converge at Isiobiukwu Gedegwum of Amucha to celebrate the 2019 New Yam Festival, tagged “Emume Iriji Amucha festival”.

A release from the President of Amucha Development Organization (ADO), Engr. Cletus Igbojionu, and the Central Working Committee (CWC) stated that the ceremony scheduled to start by 1pm in the afternoon, will feature among other events, the conferment of Ichie title on one of the illustrious sons of the community, Chief and Lolo Edwin Chikodi Odunze, who will be initiated as “Ozodinaobi of Amucha Ancient Kingdom”.

The event is expected to feature dances, masquerades and the official royal cutting of the new yam by the Royal Father, Eze C.O Ogoegbu and his cabinet men in Council, as well as numerous invited guests including other traditional rulers, politicians and business gurus from all works of life.

The Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, is billed to be the Chief Guest of Honour of the occasion while Chief Emenalo (KSJI) will be the distinguished Chairman of the occasion.
