The Management of Imo State owned Transport Company (ITC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) of Franchise vehicle owners association have refuted a recent report accusing the company of reneging in the payment of franchise owners.

In a press release issued in Owerri on Wednesday, April 15, 2020,signed by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chief B.C Igwe and Secretary, Mr Moses Uzoechi stated that franchise vehicle owners are only owed for the month of March 2020, which incidentally coincided with the lockdown order of the state government over the Covid-19 pandemic which affected both staff and management of ITC.

The release advised the general public to disregard the announcement which it described as not only misleading but the handiwork of those “who had wished the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma to toe the inglorious line of his predecessors who delighted in concessioning government establishments for personal gains rather than allowing them serve the purpose for which our founding fathers and leaders set them up”.
