As a result of the raging internal feud or crisis rocking and almost destabilizing the Imo State House of Assembly, manifesting a gender unfriendly issue where an Honourable male lawmaker from Ahiazu Mbaise LGA in Owerri zone was alleged to have assaulted her female colleague from Njaba, early last week which shame is now trending in the media, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma on Sunday July 12, 2020, summoned a meeting of All progressives Congress (APC) legislators in the House, to sue for peace and assuage the frayed nerves of the female lawmaker, whose maltreatment her female followers and admirers in the state are not happy and had expressed exception of and displeasure over the ugly development, which they described as harassment.
According to our source,during the meeting, the Governor in what was described as a pleading tune, begged Honourable Amb Uju Onwudiwe, member representing Njaba State Constituency, who was allegedly attacked by her Ahiazu Mbaise colleague with an empty wine bottle. He called for peace and unity of purpose in the House.
According to our source who pleaded anonymity, it was gathered that at the end of the meeting, the Governor disbursed an undisclosed sum of money as a form of palliative to the aggrieved APC lawmakers who have been grumbling over none-payment of their entitlements.
It was learnt also that the PDP lawmakers who were excluded from the meeting now feel aggrieved and allienated as the Governor and their colleagues who attended the meeting did not discuss their 3 months outstanding salary.
