A Sociocultural, Non Political Organization, Ike Ikeduru has donated a huge sum of money in support of a five year old victim, miss Chisomaga Osuagwu from Ama Udara Avuvu in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
The helpless girl was on March 19, 2020 raped by one Chidiebere Mgbagbu Egbukoke, a welder also of the same Ama Udara, Umukocha Avuvu. During the incident, the victim sustained injuries for which she was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri where she has been on admission for more than three months now. 


Our reporter who accompanied the group to FMC,gathered that Miss Osuagwu  has developed Medical Complications such as broken bladder, womb damage, cancer of the cervical, since the rapist was alleged to have penetrated the infant through her anal and pubic orifices. 

Speaking at the occasion,the Chairman of Ike Ikeduru Sociocultural group,  Dr Osmond Ukanacho,former Governorship candidate of United Progressive party(UPP) during the 2015 general election, emphasized on the group’s intention and determination to ensure that justice is perfected on the case. According to him, the group is aimed at giving voice to the voiceless and fighting for democracy and justice. He quoted Martin Luther King’s words ” Our lives begins to end the day we begin to keep quiet about issues that matter” Therefore,the group must fight for their sister at all cost.
The Chairman said that setting up a legal team headed by Dr Ken Uzoechi is one of the steps Ike Ikeduru group has taken to fight injustice and prevent rape. 


In separate interview section with Dr Ken Uzoechi, the chairman of the legal team of Ike Ikeduru,  he said that the group was established for the good of Ikeduru people and justice and equity must be upheld.
He disclosed that the rapist has been put behind bars after he had run away immediately after the incident and was caught a few weeks later.


While also speaking with the highly delighted Mrs Chika Osuagwu,mother of the rape victim,she thanked the group and prayed God to bless them abundantly.She revealed   that the matter is coming up on July 27th at Family Court 4 in Owerri Judicial Division.
