-Set To Enrol 10,000 Constituents
The member representing Owerri Federal Constituency,Hon Tochukwu Okere has indicated his resolve to enroll over 10,000 persons from his constituency in his well-thought out “Tochukwu Okere Intitietive” aimed at subsidizing healthcare in Imo.
According to a release from from the office of the House of Representative Member,Okere,he has keyed into the initiative of Imo State Governor, Imo Care,the Imo State Health Insurance Initiative of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, CON, GGSR, with the noble vision of providing subsidized primary healthcare services to 3 million Imo indigens across the 27 L.G.As of the state.
Recall that the recently commissioned program has already trained selected ad-hoc personnel ready to man the initiative and deliver according to the governor’s plan and vision.
The governor noted that over 85% of deaths in Imo state are avoidable, and this timely initiative is destined to crop the bothersome reality and give Imo people a deserving one.
Hon. Sir Tochukwu Okere(Toska), Member Representing who was described as, a man who seizes every opportunity at human sight to return value to his people, has unimpededly and swiftly plugged into the initiative.
The Imo Care initiative is charged for N15,000 per anum per person, and Hon. Toska is sponsoring a whopping 10,000 persons on the program.
This means free primary healthcare for 10,000 people of Owerri Federal Constituency, worth; one hundred and fifty million naira (N150,000,000) annually — to be renewed annually throughout Hon. Okere’s tenure.
The first batch of 3,000 beneficiaries are scheduled to take off before the end of May (this month). Another 2,000 will follow in the next quarter of the year, while the last 5,000 will complete the number in the last quarter of the year.
Hon. Toska, though being a Lawmaker, is redefining governance and exposing what is possible in Nigeria.
His colleagues, and constituents alike, are sold on his panache. How could he do so much? How could he dare what many (past and present) are shy of?
Indeed, Toska is not a name; it’s a legacy of hope and better life.
