–  Says: Land Belongs To Orlu Community

A prominent leader of Orlu community and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC, Chief Marcel Okereke has waded into the debate on the ownership of the land where the head-quarters of Orlu Local Government Council is situated.

Okereke, in chat with the Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, said the land in question belongs to Orlu community. Hence those claiming otherwise are either being mischievous or lack historical knowledge.

According Okereke,Umuokwara village in Orlu Community out of their benevolence donated some of their lands to Umuegbe, including those that live along Owus Avenue. He wondered why those they accommodated will turn around to chase out the Landlords.

He said,”Orlu community does not have boundary with Umuna.I will want Uzoubi community to publicly make such claim through their leaders which of ofcourse I know they won’t want to join issue with Orlu community on the subject matter.

Those who claim Landlordship of Orlu Council Headquarters should have explained to the public why booth 09 which is at the Local Government headquarters  called Orlu/Mgbe Government Station.

He stated that there has never been a time that Umuna or Amaifeke claimed ownership of the land, wondering why they have suddenly started claiming ownership of a piece of land that has existed for so long as the property of another community.

This, he said is probably because the rightful owners of the land in question are interested in touting and do not encourage their youths to be touts.
