Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state has ordered the immediate removal from office of the State’s Attorney General/ Commissioner for Justice, C.O.C Akaolisa.
The state government’s shocking announcement was contained in a statement issued in Owerri, the state capital on Monday by Declan Emelumba, who is the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy in the state.
Uzodimma ordered Akaolisa to hand over all government properties in his custody to the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice with immediate effect.
The two paragraph statement read “the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has approved the immediate removal from the office of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr C .O. C Akaolisa,
“The erstwhile commissioner has been directed to hand over all government property under his care to the State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Justice, immediately.”
At the time of filing this report,it was not clear the reason behind Akaolisa’s sack.Though sources hinted that it may not be unconnected to the circumstances that led to the appointment of the Imo Chief Judge,Nzeukwu and his eventual removal.
