– Receives Vote Of Confidence

New Owerri Ward 2, in Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State on Monday June 9 2025, held a Town Hall meeting at the Constituency Office to assess their progress, mobilize support for Governor Uzodinma’s 3R administration and chart a way forward.
The meeting which was attended by an impressive audience including all the leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the area, also offered opportunity for the vibrant and youthful Councillor of the Ward, Hon Paul Chinedu Ahurumibe to present his reportedly impressive score card to his constituents.
Hon Ahurumibe, while addressing the constituents said, “I urge you all to take advantage of the ongoing Imo Health Insurance Program that our amiable Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma ( Onwa Oyoko) has magnanimously initiated to ensure that all Imolites irrespective of class, social and financial status enjoy free, quality and accessible health care services as part of his efforts to reduce infant and adult mortality rates in the state to the barest minimum. We should also reciprocate his good gesture by giving his administration our unflinching support and loyalty because one good turn deserves another.”
The Councillor’s well articulated speech in which he outlined his achievements and advocated support for Governor Hope Uzodinma’s 3R administration elicited resounding applause and ovation from the constituents who unanimously commended him for offering effective, purposeful and quality representation that has, according to them given Owerri Municipal Council a strong voice in the Legislative Assembly.
Sequel to the unanimous endorsement of Hon Ahurumiibe’s outstanding performance, a respected elder statesman, community leader and Chieftain of the APC, High Chief Emma Ozuzu, moved a motion for a vote of confidence to be passed on him in recognition of his outstanding performance and commitment to excellence since he assumed office. The Motion was seconded by Chief David Ijeomah, an Apex Leader in the Ward and endorsed by all present.
High Chief Ozuzu, in his speech reiterated the importance of synergy and unity of purpose as cardinal indices that fast track development at all levels. He urged those present to always mobilize support for the programs and policies of the Uzodinma administration and sincerely key into the vision and mission of his 3R agenda for the good of the state and her people.
Hon Tanny Umeyo, an APC stalwart also moved a Motion that the Governor, Dist Senator Hope Uzodinma (Onwa Oyoko) be formally congratulated and appreciated for his leadership and administrative acumen that has impacted positively on the state and its people in all ramifications.. The Motion was supported and seconded by Dr C.Y. Ugwo, an Apex Leader and unanimously endorsed.
A cross section of those present at the meeting who spoke to this reporter on the condition of anonymity pleaded with the Governor to take a close look at all the link roads within the vicinity of the new Fly over being constructed at Control Post roundabout, with a view to giving the area a face lift. This, they said, will not only enhance the aesthetic beauty of the environment but also nip security challenges in the bud as hoodlooms will no longer have places to hide.
They also called for the development of the Onitsha Road Industrial Area to curtail the nefarious activities of Fulani herdsmen who have allegedly taken advantage of the deserted environment to unleash mayhem on unsuspecting innocent citizens.
