– Urges Lawmaker To Show Leadership , Make Peace With Wife,Family
The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Spectacular Publishing Ltd, publishers of Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, Comrade Precious Nwadike has reacted to a statement credited to the member, representing Orlu State constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Ikenna Ihezuo, where the latter was quoted as saying that Nwadike who was the Labour Party House of Assembly candidate for Orlu State constituency should quit politics and stop making trouble with people.
Nwadike, who is also the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, said, it will be a disservice to the people for highly qualified men of impeccable character and unblemished track records to leave politics for irresponsible men who are unable to organize and show leadership in their family.
He advised Ihezuo to, as a matter of urgency, make peace with his estranged wife and children rather than resorting to washing his dirty linens in public.
Comrade Precious Nwadike said, “I’m yet to see any great man whose success in life is measured by the number of wives he married and divorced for whatever reason.”
The Orlu born Human Rights Activist who stated this in a telephone conversation with this reporter, also advised, the embattled Orlu lawmaker to focus on how to deliver the elusive dividends of democracy to his constituents who are lamenting over his poor, inept and unimpactful representation which they described so far, as six wasted years.
According to him, “it is unfortunate that Ikenna Ihezuo, who claims to be an experienced lawyer cannot distinguish between a newspaper publication and the personal opinion of the publisher who is not involved in the day- to- day running of the media outfit. He erroneously believes that every report in the newspaper is authorized by Nwadike.
“Ihezuo should be advised to concentrate his energy on the numerous court cases he initiated against Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper and stop casting aspersions that will yield him nothing.”
Continuing, Nwadike, said, “as a matter of fact, I thank God that I am not a member of the current Imo State House of Assembly that has been described in many quarters as an appendage of the executive arm that controls and dictates its pace at all times and in all aspects.”
He advised Ihezuo to respect the fact that he is the representative of Orlu people and stop condescending to the level of always dancing naked in the market square.
“It is on record that Ihezuo had been linked to many scandals that had nothing to do with Precious Nwadike or the Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper. For instance sometime ago, he was alleged to have diverted about 65 bags of rice meant for Orlu people. The matter escalated to the point that he reported the Orlu LGA Chairman of APC to the House of Assembly. Precious Nwadike and Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper were neither mentioned nor involved in the matter.
There was also a case of a community in Orlu that accuse alleged that five million Naira was collected from them with pretence of moving a motion to fastrack a road leading to a hospital. The allegation was made by his constituents and not Nwadike or the Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper. To be candid, I am not surprised that Ihezuo is a colossal failure because one cannot give what he does not have”.
