The leadership of Owerri Political Leaders of Thought has reinstated its strong support for the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, appreciating the infrastructural, socioeconomic and human capital development recorded so far in his administration.

Speaking in Owerri on July 12th during a press conference, Prince Alex Mbata, one of the pioneer leaders of the group stated that the organisation was primarily set up to lend support to the governor of Imo State to ensure continued development of the state.

Prince Charles Amadi, a founding leader of the organisation applauded Governor Uzodinma for his visible efforts in providing quality leadership and giving Imo a great facelift through “indisputable” infrastructural development in the state.

Amadi revealed that Owerri Leaders Of Thought are gradually building the organisation and engaging leaders of integrity who are passionate about good governance and the overall development of the state, hence their support for the incumbent governor.

In the meeting which was graced by critical Imo Media practitioners, the group sought for partnership and collaboration with the media in spreading the gospel of good governance in Imo spearheaded by Governor Uzodinma.

Ahead of 2028 election, the leaders expressed confidence in the governor’s would be choice of a successor, saying that they trust Uzodinma to hand over the leadership mantle to a very credible and competent individual who can sustain his good legacies.

However, they maintained that Owerri Zone has a good number of very capable and reputable politicians who are by every standard qualified to takeover leadership from the current governor. According to them many aspirants from Owerri Zone have the capacity, the resources, the character, the formidable political network that cuts across the 305 electoral wards of the state, to influence voters, win elections and subsequently provide dividends of democracy to Imolites when elected.

Inline with agitations by the Owerri Zone people and other good spirited Imolites that an Owerri indigene should succeed Uzodinma, the group unequivocally agreed with the assertion and added that whoever the governor chooses from Owerri Zone will receive the united support, endorsement and approval of the Owerri Leaders Of Thought.

Henry Njoku, another pioneer leader of the organisation urged members of the fourth estate of the realm to use their skills and pen to give unreserved support to the governor to ensure development of the state,  reminding them of the governor’s efforts in bettering the state and its citizens.
