– Say, Bright Ikpe, Obinna Okorocha, Lack Capacity To Speak, Act On Their Behalf
The Principal Members of the component families in Okwu, Umuoma Nekede that own the Nigeria Correctional (Prisons) Layout at Avu Junction in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State have distanced and dissociated themselves from an advertorial captioned, “Buyer Beware” and the exhibition of Court Summons on Suit No: HOW/270/2025 published in the Announcer Newspaper of Monday, August, 4, 2025 and also in various social media platforms.
The land owners in a rebuttal captioned, “SPONSORED FRIVOLOUS ADVERTORIAL IN THE PRINT AND SOCIAL MEDIA AGAINST CHIEF SAM ANOKAM ABOUT THE NIGERIA CORRECTIONAL LAYOUT, AVU JUNCTION, OWERRI WEST, IMO STATE”, and signed by “Chief Okechukwu Opara, President General, Okwu Umuoma Community & Principal member, Nmereni family, okwu, Pastor Enyinna Ikpe, Elder & Principal member Ikpe family, Okwu, IK Chieke, Principal member Ukayinroha family & former chairman Okwu Umuoma, Chidi Kamalu, Principal member, Kamalu family, Okwu, Pastor John Ibe, Former President General Umuoma Community & Principal member, Ekeofo family, Okwu, Pastor Louis Uwaleke, Principal member, Umuanwunachi family, Owku, Chibuzor Igbokwe, Principal member, Ekeofo family, okwu, Innocent Ohale, Principal member Ohale family, Former Interim Chairman, Okwu Umuoma, Udoka Uwaleke, Principal member, Umuanwunachi family, Okwu, Okechukwu Opara Kenka, Principal member Umuanwunachi family, Okwu, Kelechi (Areke) Oparanozie, Personal Assistant, Traditional Ruler of Umuoma Community and Principal member, Oparanozie family, okwu, Pastor Herbert Nwosu, Principal member, Nwosu/Ikpe family”, stated that “our attention has been drawnto the embarrassing advertorial captioned “buyer beware” and the exhibition of Court Summons on Suit No: How/270/2025 published in Announcer Newspapers of Monday 4 August 2025 and in various social media platforms casting aspersion on the person of Chief Sam Anokam signed by Messrs Bright Ikpe and Obinna Okorocha as representing Okwu umuoma Landowners and we hereby publish a rebuttal thereto. The subject advertorial is ill-conceived and we discredit the same and disassociate our various families of Okwu Umuoma from the act of ingratitude and disrespect to Chief Sam Anokam.
We had individually and collectively appointed Chief Sam Anokam to act for us as Attorney in respect of our land offered to the Federal Government by Imo State Government as designated in Owerri Master Plan as Nigeria Prison Site for the use of the Nigerian Prison. Chief Sam Anokam’s appointment was valid and he has offered his services creditably since 2017. The land has never been in dispute and our various families are beneficiaries of cash payment for Traditional Rites and compensatory Plot Allocations thereto.
The duo of Bright Ikpe and Obinna Okorocha are self-seeking and have no capacity to institute an action in court for and on our behalf, in respect of the subject Nigeria Correctional land which we have benefitted immensely through our Attorney, Chief Sam Anokam.
The general public and various institutions of Government should ignore the publication and the said suit filed against Chief Sam Anokam as the action was not authorized by Okwu Umuoma landowners and the Traditional Ruler of Umuoma Community, HRH Eze Morrison Eke, Omadike I of Umuoma Autonomous Community”.
