The Imo State Government Liason Officer for Obiangwu Ward, Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Imo State, Hon Chukwuma Anuforo, has raised the alarm over alleged threats to his life by Hon Chika Ibekwe, Chairperson Ngor Okpala LGA. He also alleged that her threat is also dangling on the head of his family members.
Hon Anuforo made this chilling revelation in a petition he wrote to Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Danjuma Aboki.
According to him the petition became inevitable following her constant ,almost daily threats to use her executive power, government contact and connection and resources to kill him.
He disclosed that the threat from her was as a result of his principled and constructive criticism of her style of leadership. He noted that she was elected to serve and work for the people but instead of that she was busy misusing her powers, prompting him and other Ngor Okpala patriots to rise up and speak out against what she was doing.
“This is the “crime” I committed and for which she’s threatening my life.” Anuforo opined
He went on to highlight some of the wrongs he kicked against, that drew the anger of the chairperson.
These were the forming of a parallel youth body in Onyeaghanwanneya Court Area, host community to Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport with the intention to hijack and collect revenue at SAM MBAKWE INT’L CARGO AIRPORT (SMICA) ,a move that was resisted by him and entire ONYEAHHALANWANNEYA YOUTH MOVEMENT, (OYM );
abuse of power ,official recklessness and neglect of duty,which he criticized, her
false accusations that he works with security agencies in the state,and also leaked video clip of her public misconduct.
Another infraction of her he said that he condemned was her alleged reckless response and reaction to the call of the people on her to grade rural roads. According to the petitioner she would always ask Nde Ngor Okpala to go and complain to the governor who is in charge of council allocation. He said he saw that statement as a betrayal of the trust the governor bestowed on her, hence spoke out against it.
He also mentioned the opposition the people of his community Obiangwu put up against her plans to use their councillor who is also the leader of Ngor Okpala Legislative Council Hon Chibuike Agbugba to install her stooge as the President General of Obiangwu autonomous community,for the purpose of hijacking the two million naira (#2,000.000) security fund to communities by His Excellency Dist Sen (Dr) Hope Uzodimma ( Onwa), as another reason she’s after his life.
The GLO made it abundantly clear that it was his demand for good governance that resulted in the death threat hanging on his head and that of his family.
He went further to draw the attention of the Police Commissioner to the gravity of the matter, given that it’s a matter of life and death, and passionately appealled to him to use his good office, wealth of experience and professional skills to investigate his allegations, and call the chairperson to order.
