– Promises To Honor Police Invitation
Popular On Air Personality and human rights activist, Mazi Chinonso Uba (Nonso Nkwa), has once again raised alarm over a renewed plot to arrest and keep him behind bars, as usual.
Mazi Uba, who disclosed this in a post on his facebook page said, the Imo State Police Command invited him for interrogation on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. “I told them to reschedule the time because I received the invitation very late. I could not honor it because the time clashed with another earlier scheduled appointment that I could not ignore at such short notice.
“However, I will definitely honor this invitation because this is the first time that I am being invited formally rather than being ambushed, the way they did on July 27, 2023 and October 20, 2024 respectively”.
Recall that Nonso Nkwa, who contested the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal constituency election in 2023 on the platform of the Advanced Democratic Congress (ADC) was on one of the instances mentioned earlier, arrested and detained for 52 days at the instance of the Hope Uzodinma administration. He is also presently in Court with the state government.
The letter of invitation dated September 15 2025 and signed on behalf of the Commissioner of Police by ACP. Adamu Ahmadu, Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department (SID) Owerri, reads, “This office is investigating a case of Defamatory Conduct/Misleading Report against the Police, in which your name featured prominently.
You are therefore invited to interview the Commissioner of Police, Imo State through the undersigned on Tuesday, 16th September, 2025 by 10:00hrs prompt, at State Intelligence Department (SID), for facts finding.
The invitation is compelled by the law enforcement requirement provided for in section 53 (2) (a) of Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.
Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated, please”.
