Prof Kenneth Yongabi, a Cameroonian scientist has been appointed as a Senior Research Officer at the United Nations in recognition of his exceptional intellect and commitment to finding solutions to the myriad of health challenges facing humanity.
Commenting on the development, Engr Chief Stanley Ukaga, a renowned entrepreneur, community leader and Chairman, IBPP GTE and STK Biotech Ltd, whose wife Prof Chinyere Ukaga, also a renowned scientist is a lecturer at the Imo State University (IMSU) Owerri, in a chat with this reporter said, “several years ago, my wife Professor Chinyere Ukaga, told me about her research colleague, a brilliant scientist in Cameroon who had developed a Phytomedicine that offered alternative organic treatment for diabetes and several other diseases, including cancer. Being diabetic and believing in my wife’s professional advice, I took a flight from my base in Johannesburg, South Africa at that time to Yaoundé, in Cameroun. After a grueling trip of over ten hours by road, I arrived at the quiet city of Bamenda, where I met Professor Kenneth Yongabi at his PRF Foundations Clinic.
His herbal supplement worked for me. Thereafter, I made several return visits to discover more about his research and other products he had developed. When I also found a solution to my asthma problem from him,I became absolutely convinced.
Responding to another question, Engr Ukaga, who is also the National President General of Uratta Development Union (UDU) comprising the six component autonomous communities in the Uratta Nation said, “ to cut a long story short, as an entrepreneur that I am, having experienced the efficacy of Prof Yongabi’s scientific products, I convinced him to relocate to Nigeria and we co-founded STK Biotech Ltd, with our focus on affordability. A few years later we decided to establish an all encompassing model and the NGO, Institute for Bio-Phytomedicine and Physiatry GTE (IBPP) was founded. A unique and innovative training and research facility that is focused on humanity, how to resolve and respond to health and environmental challenges with result-oriented precision. This is a place where like minded professionals from diverse disciplines can impart their collective knowledge, expertise and experiences to others in the service of humanity, for the ultimate benefit of our local communities, with a national and international perspective. Our aim is to further develop other life saving phytomedicines, wellness and care systems, environmentally friendly agricultural and household products, in addition to deploying and believing in the Afrocentric principles of sustainability alongside people and community engagements.
On what he thinks about Prof Yongabi’s new appointment, Ukaga said, “As God would have it and as often said, “a gold fish has no hiding place”. Professor Kenneth Yongabi has just been appointed by the United Nations (UN) as one of their Senior Professional Officers few years down the line.. It is a meritorious attestation of the decades of research, diligence, dedication and belief in himself and our unique people first approach to science and product development.
