The Labour Party House of Assembly Candidate for Nwangele Constituency in the 2023 Election, Chief Amb. Edith Nwosu popularly known as Ikuku Oma Nwangele has officially resigned from the Labour Party. 

In her letter addressed to the party’s ward chairman of Abba Nwangele LGA of Imo State, Ikuku Oma stated that it has become imperative to leave the party at this time because of “personal reasons”.

Speaking with newsmen in Imo recently, Ikuku Oma noted that becoming the House of Assembly Candidate for Labour Party is one of the significant “high points” of her life which she treasures. She expressed her profound gratitude to the party at the state and national levels for the opportunity given to her by the party. 

Nwosu’s resignation has sparked interest in her future plans, with many speculating about her next political move. However, she has emphasized her focus on continuing to serve her community through her foundation and empowerment club.

Ikuku Oma can best be described as a development czar whose life has been marked by numerous empowerment programs for women and youths in her constituency. Her EdithNwosu Healthcare Foundation and Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club have made significant contributions to the community, providing free healthcare services and economic empowerment initiatives.

Nwosu has organized several free healthcare programs in prisons, higher institutions, and rural communities, showcasing her commitment to improving the lives of her people.

Her annual economic empowerment initiatives and self-development programs have equipped women and youths in Imo State with valuable skills, promoting economic growth and development. Her selfless service and community development programs have earned her several awards, chieftaincy titles, and nominations, solidifying her position as a respected leader in her community.
