An alleged Vote Buying and Voter Aparthy had marred the Anambra State Governorship Election holding today, 8th November, 2025.
Watchdog Newspaper reporter who was on ground to monitor the election, observed that, in some polling units, party agents were seen following voters to the voting cubicles where they lavished them with money amounting to over Ten Thousand Naira to vote for their party.
As the vote buying intensified, the security agents kept dead mute with INEC officials and other independent bodies monitoring the election were also helpless as the party agents engaged the voters in voting transaction.
Although the election, which commenced in the morning hours, was peaceful in some polling units as security agents were seen manning the election.
16 political parties fielded candidates for the guber poll. Among the major parties participating in the election were APGA, PDP, APC, LP.
Voting is still going on as at the time of filling in this report.
