-SAYS: WHEREVER GOVERNOR GOES,HE GOES

The leader behind the ongoing massive wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Evangelist Myke Obinna Ikoku, has declared that he has no personal political ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ikoku stated that his only ambition is the continued success of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma, stressing that his political journey is firmly tied to that of the governor.

Speaking in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on Monday, Evang. Ikoku reacted to the avalanche of goodwill messages that have followed his return to the APC—a move widely credited with triggering the current mass defection of PDP members into the ruling party.

The Nkwerre Local Government Area–born political leader categorically dismissed speculation about any electoral interest, stating plainly that he is not contesting any election.“Wherever Governor Uzodimma goes, I go,” Ikoku declared.

He further revealed that the defection trend is far from over, adding that the remaining structure of the PDP in Imo State will soon be completely emptied into the APC.

According to him, the ongoing realignment of political forces in the state is a direct consequence of Governor Uzodimma’s superlative performance across all sectors of the state’s economy, which he said has won the confidence of politicians and the general public alike.
