-Assures party will flourish

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has witnessed a resurgence in Imo State following the official inauguration of its State Caretaker Committee.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Wednesday at the PDP South-East Zonal Office in Enugu, Enugu State, with several committed party leaders from across the zone in attendance.

While inaugurating the Caretaker Committee members, the PDP South-East Zonal Chairman, Chief Ali Odefa, charged them to work in unity and with a shared vision to reposition the party for future electoral victories in Imo State. He expressed concern over what he described as widespread poverty, hunger and suffering, which he blamed on the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I congratulate the members of the PDP Caretaker Committee who have been inaugurated to run the affairs of the party for 90 days, pending congresses,” Odefa said.
“This laudable development is meant to shame those breeding crisis within the party in an attempt to bring it down. I assure you that the PDP is more alive today and has better prospects.

“You have been called to serve, and the task before you is herculean. It requires dedication and hard work to return our party to power. Work in unity to reposition the party. I pray that God grants you the strength and wisdom to perform creditably.
“Give your chairman the necessary support to enable him to function effectively. Strive to win decisively in 2027. Unfortunately, some individuals are hell-bent on destroying the PDP—the same party that made them—just to secure crumbs from their masters’ table in Abuja.

“The next election is a contest for survival—between Nigerians and the APC—because the country is grappling with hunger, poverty, and unrest caused by APC policies,” Odefa maintained.

In his inaugural address, the Chairman of the Imo State PDP Caretaker Committee, Ikenga Jonjude Okere, assured that the committee would work diligently, sincerely, and collectively to rebuild and reposition the party in the state.

“As a party, we will work together to ensure that the PDP flourishes in Imo State and regains power to uplift society and improve the lives of the people of Imo State, who have been subjected to poverty and suffering,” he said.

The members of the Imo State PDP Caretaker Committee are: Ikenga Jonjude Okere (Chairman), Hon. Magnus Amadi (Secretary), Mr. Kenneth Ejiofor, Arc. Chinonso Odoemelam, Mr. Celestine Uwah, Mrs. Maria Osuigwe, Lady Love Orum, Engr. Promise Eneogwe, and Mr. Hygienus Asoluka.
