…Seeks Partnership On Youth Digital, Vocational Skills
The leadership of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly (OYA) paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University Ogboko (KOMU), Professor Ikechukwu Dozie.
The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration for youth empowerment and skills development.
The visit, which took place on Tuesday at the University in Ogboko, Ideato South local government area, Imo State, formed part of OYA’s broader engagement initiative targeted at expanding opportunities for youths across Orlu Senatorial Zone.
Speaking during the meeting, the National President of OYA, Prince Izunna Obiefule, stated that the Assembly remains deliberate in its advocacy for digital innovation, vocational training and entrepreneurial capacity building among young people in Orlu Zone.
“Our mission is clear — to ensure that youths of Orlu Zone are equipped with practical skills that make them economically productive and globally competitive. We believe that collaboration with reputable institutions like KOMU is critical to achieving this objective,” Obiefule said.
He emphasized that Orluzurumee Youth Assembly will continue to champion policies and partnerships that promote youth empowerment, security consolidation and sustainable development across Orlu Zone and Imo State in general.
The delegation also sought the formal establishment and consolidation of the Orluzurumee Students Chapter within the University to deepen youth representation and structured engagement on the campus.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ikechukwu Dozie, warmly welcomed the initiative and endorsed the establishment of the students’ chapter, assuring the Assembly of the University’s support.
“Students are central stakeholders in our academic ecosystem. Any initiative that inspires, motivates and strengthens their intellectual and moral capacity aligns with our vision as a University,” the Vice Chancellor said.
Dozie highlighted the University’s ongoing Students Lecture Series initiative, noting that it was designed to expose students to thoughtful leadership and excellence.
Also, he called on public spirited individuals and stakeholders to support the institution in addressing infrastructural needs and facilitating accreditation processes.
Orluzurumee Youth Assembly is the umbrella socio-cultural youth organization representing the twelve local government areas of Orlu Senatorial Zone in Imo State.
With structured presence across communities and tertiary institutions, OYA serves as a unifying platform for youth advocacy, leadership development, empowerment initiatives and policy engagement.
Among OYA exco in the visit were Comrade Dim Chibuike (Secretary General), Kenneth Okorie (Assistant Secretary General), John Okolie (Financial Secretary), Alvan Chinaka (Organizing Secretary), Obimma Jesse (Director of Student Affairs), Comrade Julie Anyaoha (Rep. Contact Mobilization), Ikenna Orioha (Publicity Secretary), Okolie Desmond (Director of Welfare), Engr. Chima Otogboro (Coordinator, Ideato South LGA.).
