Imo State chairman of the All People’s Party (APP), Ernest Njesi, has said that the All Progressive Party (APC) is very jittery of the rising popularity and wide acceptability of the APP in the state.

Njesi affirmed that the APP is cleanly, legitimately and legally registered and would contest the 2027 elections having been fully recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (NEC).

He hinted that the party which had won elections previously, featured prominently in the just concluded FCT council election because of its legal and constitutional recognition by INEC.

Njesi said the APP has wide spread into the grassroots and the hinterlands of Imo State and stands a better position to win majority seats in the forthcoming polls of both state and federal positions.

Speaking during a parley with the media at its Secretariat in Owerri recently, the party chairman stressed that overzealous individuals who are afraid and jittery of losing their elections in 2027 are the ones calling for the deregistration of the APP, a party with people-driven ideologies with much focus on lifting humanity and society development.

“The APP is legally and legitimately registered. Only overzealous individuals in the polity are calling for its deregistration. In 2027, we will contest election under INEC guidelines. They fight APP because it exists even solidly, formidably, has wide spread, popularity and overwhelming acceptability in the grassroots and across hinterlands”, Njesi maintained.

Reflecting on the ideologies of the party, the State Publicity Secretary and Legal Adviser of the party, Kajetan Duke and Dr. Uche Nwosu, assured that the APP is always poised to implement its people-oriented policies to stabilize goodness, peace, security, comfort, as well as improve economic prosperity in Imo State.

“We want the media to partner with APP to be able to holistically change the bad leadership in Imo State dubiously orchestrated by the APC. Media is a critical stakeholder in Imo project”, Duke added.

The party leaders called on the people to look beyond rumor mongering, while lending their solid credence and effective support to APP to revive Imo State and make people’s lives more meaningful and bearably appetizing.
