Showcases Scorecard, Promises More

ABUJA — Member representing Ideato Federal Constituency, Ikenga, on Tuesday hosted indigenes of Ideato resident in Abuja, where he presented his stewardship and pledged renewed commitment to delivering more democratic dividends.

The engagement, held under the auspices of the Ideato Peoples Assembly, took place at the National Assembly Complex and was themed “An Afternoon with Our Messenger.” The meeting, which commenced around 1 p.m., drew a cross-section of constituents living in the Federal Capital Territory.

Addressing the gathering, Ikenga outlined key milestones of his tenure, highlighting legislative interventions, constituency projects, and advocacy efforts targeted at improving the welfare of the Ideato people. He reaffirmed his readiness to deepen engagement with constituents and sustain people-oriented representation.

Participants at the meeting expressed strong confidence in the lawmaker, passing what observers described as a vote of confidence in his leadership. Several attendees commended his accessibility and responsiveness, noting that the interactive session provided an opportunity to ask questions and offer feedback directly.

The forum also served as a platform for constituents to articulate pressing needs and expectations, with Ikenga assuring them that their concerns would continue to shape his priorities at the National Assembly.

The event underscored a growing trend of diaspora-style constituency engagement within Nigeria’s political landscape, as elected officials increasingly seek to connect with constituents outside their home districts while reinforcing accountability and transparency.
