A group known as Orlu Youth Solidarity Movement ( OYSM) has berated the commissioner for Education in Imo state Prof BTO Ikegwuoha for implementing what it described as anti Orlu agenda.

The group, in a release signed by Comrade Marshal Anusionwu and Comrade Obinna Onyeajusi, as chairman and Secretary respectively accused the commissioner of playing the ostrich by claiming that the governor is aware of his actions against Orlu people.

They noted that Governor Hope Uzodinma, who is passionately committed to the overall interest of Orlu people cannot support his anti Orlu agenda.”The commissioner should be bold enough to take responsibility for his actions that will definitely bounce back on him sooner than he expected. rather than claiming that the governor ordered the removal of the affected principals.”

Reacting to the commissioner’s claim that he removed the affected principals because they are corrupt, the group said, ” it is an age-long dictum that he who goes to equity must go with clean hands. We have it on good authority that Commissioner Ikegwuoha, recently bought land worth N50 million and built a mansion on it within six months. The onus is therefore on him to tell Orlu people and Imolites from where he got the money to execute such gigantic project considering his salary as a lecturer in a state owned university. He should also explain how the millions of Naira that were sent to him through POS were received and disbursed. He lacks the moral right to accuse any person or group of corruption without making these explanations.”

“It is also on record that Ikegwuoha, who is said to be adept at using falsehood and propaganda to allegedly demonize innocent people deployed the same tactics in fighting the immediate past Executive Secretary (ES) of the Imo State Secondary Education Management Board SEMB, Dame Tina Azubuike, who he eventually removed from office few weeks ago to the charging of principals and other stakeholders who were pleased with the latter’s exceptional performance and zero tolerance for corruption.”

“We call on the governor who is an illustrious and patriotic son of Orlu zone to call the commissioner to order because his anti Orlu actions can demarket the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
