-Cautions Political Jobbers Against Distorting Information

A former Chairman of Orlu Legislative Council and former President General, Orlu community Town Union, Chief Eddie Olumba, popularly called Mr E. has said that, contrary to the falsehood being peddled in some quarters, the headquarters of Orlu Local Government Council is situated in Orlu community and not in Amaifeke.

Chief Olumba disclosed this in a release he made yesterday while reacting to an address read at the reception of the Executive Chairman of Orlu Local Government Council, Pastor Chris Mbarie by Amaifeke community.

Mr E, a prominent Orlu leader who said, Amaifeke has never at any point in time owned any portion or piece of land within the precincts of Orlu Local Government Council headquarters.

Olumba, while dissecting the whole issue,  berated those he described as political jobbers for deliberately attempting to instigate quarrels that will culminate in boundary dispute if not checked.

According to him, there has never been in the history of Amaifeke owning any part of the council premises.

“Their boundaries are from the Orlu stadium down. It will be misinformation if Amaifeke lays claim of the landlordship of the council headquarters and Orlu Community keeps quiet. This is a calculated attempt by some political jobbers to instigate an unnecessary boundary dispute which won’t bear  any dividend.

“For the records Orlu local council headquarters is situated in Orlu Community while the stadium and the police station are shared by Amaifeke and Umuna  communities. Which named the area OAU. (Orlu, Amaifeke, Umuna) Ever since history Amaifeke never had boundaries issues with Orlu.He added, because 90% of the local government headquarters belongs to orlu community, that is why the 11th pooling both in Orlu mgbee government station ward is in front of the local government headquarters.

Olumba also said, “the actual boundaries of the council headquarters belonging to Orlu community cuts across the stadium down to the Orlu Cheshire home and emphasised the need for people to embrace peace and respect for communal relationship.

“He called on the print and electronic media to disregard the fictitious and misleading information, and warned that people who wish for favours should be bold enough to ask for it rather than drag the people into trouble”.
