–      claim, Directive From Above

Despite the clamour by Orlu people that the Imo State government should desist from the speculated plan to hand over  the premises of the Technical Skill Acquisition Center (TESAC) that accommodated the Imo State Polytechnic, Orlu campus before it was relocated to Omuma, to the catholic diocese of Orlu and the lawsuit they initiated to that effect, some unknown persons have reportedly carted away the equipment at the institution including a radio station constructed by Niger Delta Development Commission under the former Governor of the state, Chief Achike Udenwa.

It was gathered that about 15 trucks were sighted in the premises of the institution recently loading all kinds of equipment to an unknown destination.

A community source who spoke to Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper said, “when some persons among us asked them who authorized them to cart away the equipment, they refused to open up. Hence, speculations are flying around: could it be that the government is not aware of such a move?”

“Others are also wondering if the evacuated equipment were taken to the Imo State Polytechnic, Omuma. But if that is the case, why were they not accompanied by at least one government official or a member of the school’s management?,he queried.

Recall that there have been clamour by the people of Orlu that the TESAC premises should on no account be released to the Catholic Church.

Effort to reach the Commissioner for Education for comment proved abortive as he did not respond to calls put to his phone.
