The Nigeria Union of Journalists Imo State Council led by Comrade Precious Nwadike, yesterday conferred awards of honour on members of the union whose immense contributions and concerted efforts led to the recovery of the union’s secretariat from the fraudulent cabal that was fraudulently sold to a former governor of the state through a proxy named Enedo General Services.
The Diamond members comprising all those who exhibited the spirit of patriotism and comradeship by rising up to the challenge and fight relentlessly to ensure that the union’s expansive secretariat located along Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, the state capital was recovered from the criminal stranglehold of Chris Akaraonye, a retired photographer who parades himself as a journalist and his accomplices including the former Chairman of Imo NUJ Innocent Igwe and others who connived with the National President of the Union, Chris Isiguzo to sell the property.
