–         Accuses Him Of Complicity Alongside Alozie

Imo State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists  has distanced and dissociated itself from the questionable imposition of Collins Osuji as Chairman of the Chapel on the ground that he was indicted and suspended alongside other members of the Chinonso Alozie administation.

The group in a released signed by Mazi George Onyejiuwa, Chairman, Credentials Committee, Mrs Angela Nkwo-Akpolu, Secretary, Credentials  Committee and Mrs Charity Wines, Member, Credentials committee and made available to the press, stated  that Collins Osuji of the Guardian Newspaper is not the Chairman  of the Correspondents in the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council.

They further stated that Osuji was suspended alongside other members of the former Chairman, Chinonso Alozie-led administration, sequel to their complicity in the botched fraudulent sale of the bus donated to the Chapel by the Imo State government.

“We hereby notify the general public that Collins Osuji of Guardian Newspaper is not the Chairman of Imo State Correspondents  Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists ,Imo State Council.

OSUJI was suspended  alongside  other members of the former Chairman,  Chinonso  Alozie’s  administration,  following their complicity in the botched sale of the bus donated to the Chapel  by the Imo State Government. 

Their suspension took effect on 1, May, 2025.

As a result , Mr COLLINS OSUJI has no authority to act on behalf of, or represent, the Imo state Correspondents’ Chapel in any capacity. Any zactions taken or claims made by this individual purporting to represent the Correspondents’ chapel  are unauthorized and invalid.

The Correspondents’ Chapel has already  set  in motion a process to elect a new Executive Council.

Therefore, the general public is advised to disregard any such actions or claims and communicate with only the  authorised leadership of the Chapel headed by the Credentials Committee Chairman, Mr. George Onyejiuwa”.
