Comrade Stephen Akuchie is the authentic Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Imo State Chapter. In a recent statement, the state council addressed concerns and clarified misinformation surrounding Akuchie’s emergence as chairman.

The NYCN Imo State Chapter’s release, signed by the Media Directorate, clarified that Akuchie’s leadership was ratified during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting/retreat in Abuja from July 14th to 16th, 2023. The meeting addressed the existing leadership vacuum in the state chapter, ultimately clearing the path for Comrade Stephen Akuchie’s leadership.

The NYCN Imo State Chapter dismissed the validity of a widely circulated consent judgment, stating that it was unconstitutionally obtained by the former chairman after his tenure expired in 2021.

The Council urged Imo youths to rally behind the new leadership, highlighting its focus on youth development, empowerment, and progress, while pledging to uphold transparency, peace, unity, and growth under Comrade Stephen Akuchie’s leadership.

The youths expressed gratitude to Humphrey Osuji for his commitment and reaffirmed their loyalty, looking forward to his continued support for their cause.

The State Chapter of NYCN sought Governor Uzodinma’s support to mobilize Imo youths under their umbrella, pledging unwavering backing for his Renewed Hope Agenda and the 3R government. They expressed confidence in his leadership, declaring, “God Makes Kings and nobody can stop God’s Anointed.”
