Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, will in November this year mark the 10th anniversary of surviving devastating onslaught unleashed on it by the Rochas Okorocha administration for publishing a report about how a cook carted away and absconded the sum of #5b bailout fund given to the state by the Federal government to offset accumulated arrears of salaries and pensions of civil servants in the state.

The Editor of the newspaper, Sir Bonny Ajuogu KSJI, stated this during the Outfit’s monthly editorial meeting addressing  in Owerri, the state capital yesterday, “ how time flies. It is almost 10 years since agents of the Imo State government unleashed a series of harassment, attacks and intimidation with a view to liquidating the media outfit because of its vocal disposition”.

According to Sir Ajuogu, “It is only a few newspaper houses that can survive what Nigeria Watchdog and its staff underwent during that era of intimidation and suppression of facts”.

However, we intend to use the upcoming event to thank God for his mercy, courage and divine support he gave the management and staff of the newspaper during the dark period.
