Supervisory Councillor for Health in Orlu LGA Anselm Okonkeo popularly known as Ofedike has been suspended by Councillors over alleged derogatory utterances against the hallowed Chamber.
This is happening six months after the suspension of same Ofedike as Acting Chairman of Ohaeke Ward in Orlu LGA by the leadership of the APC in Orlu Local Government.
Investigation carried out by Lead revealed that the said Ofedike allegedly used derogatory statement against the Councillors, saying that the Councillors would leave the Council with dry pocket amongst other statements which the Councillors viewed as degrading and insulting.
In the suspension Letter signed by the Thirteen Councillors and presented to the Local Government Chairmen, Chris Mbarie for assent, the Councillors made it clear that the said Ofedike must vacate his office as Supervisory Councillor for Three Months.
As at the time of filling this report, Lead reliable gathered that the Local Government Chairmen had not signed the Letter rather has been appealing to the Councillors to tamper justice with mercy by lifting the suspension.
The appeal by the executive Chairman to lift the said suspension has caused commotion amongst the Councillors as majority of them insisted that their stand on the suspension must be carried out .
Speaking this reporter on the guise of anonymity, one of the Councillors revealed that Mbarie though has intervened but his intervention would make no meaning adding that the culprit has been going about telling the public that he was not under any suspension.
In his submission, another Councillor who also would not want his name in Print revealed the readiness of the Councillors to transfer the aggression on the Executive Chairman, Mbarie if he continued pleading on behalf of the said Ofedike who according to him has insulted the members of the hallowed chambers.
He added that, the Councillors would not be expected to be quiet after a mere appointee who they have over sight function on to make mockery and caricature of them hence the Executive Chairman should stay away.
