Tasks Government To Provide Security

The Representative Member for Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has taken a significant step in supporting the families of victims of the recent deadly attack in Arondizuogu/Umualaoma and Osina communities of Ideato North LGA, Imo State. Through emergency donations from his friends and associates, the lawmaker disbursed 61 million naira to families of the 26 victims of the Arondizuogu Umualaoma massacre and 10 victims of the Osina bloodbath on the 19th of August 2025.

The lawmaker provided financial assistance to families to alleviate their suffering, with specific allocations for education, business, and other essential needs. 

Some of the families were Obinna Onyebuchi’s Family, whose wife received N2 million to care for their young children and infant, as well as support her business.

Mr and Mrs. Hyacinth Nwosu’s Son who was abruptly withdrawn from boarding school to witness his parents’ burial, was provided with funds to complete his secondary education. His aunt received N1 million to boost her small-scale business and support the boy. Ifeanyi Ejimkoye, Perpetual Onyeka Nwagbuo, and others received substantial sums to support their education, skills development, and businesses during this challenging period.

In addition to individual support, the lawmaker donated N3 million to each affected community to support their recovery from the heinous destruction of lives and properties.To enhance security measures in each community, Ugochinyere gave 2million to vigilante groups and donated funds to police and parishes to support their efforts in the affected communities.

The Lawmaker called for Improved Security, stressing that local security and policing are the primary responsibility of the state and local government areas. He urged the LGA to utilize its funds to protect citizens and equip communities with necessary ammunition, stating, “Our communities must be protected. The LGA must be funded to facilitate work at the grassroot.”

He revealed that as a Lawmaker he has done more than his legislative responsibilities and has provided basic amenities such as water supply, renovation of schools, installation of solar powered street lights. He urged the LGAs to utilize the resources that belongs to the people and work for them. 

The lawmaker expressed gratitude to his friends and associates who contributed to the emergency fund, describing them as selfless and charitable individuals concerned with the welfare of citizens. He enjoined the beneficiaries to pray for God’s blessings upon them.

The Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Lawmaker for his intervention. A Federal Polytechnic Nekede Undergraduate, Miss Perpetual Mbaoma, appreciated the lawmaker for the support, which has enabled her to continue her education despite the loss of her sponsor.
