To encourage excellence service to humanity and positive impact to the community, an NGO, Hope4OurYouth Foundation, in collaboration with Owerri West Local Government, had  awarded a staff of Imo State Broadcasting Corporation (Orient FM/TV), Ubah Udochukwu Steve.

Ubah is a prolific television producer, a creative broadcast journalist and video editor.

Presenting the award to Ubah, during a ceremony tagged “Owerri West Excellence Youth Awards 2025”, held on Friday, the founder of H4OYF, Esorochukwu Phil Obi, who was represented by the Foundation’s Patron, Amb. Obi Chukwueze, said the honor was meritorious as the recipient uses his skill and talent to make positive impact that adds to the development of his community, Okuku, Owerri West.

Obi described Ubah as a versatile and extraordinary journalist who produces, presents, does shows, writes, video graphs, directs and edits videos for radio and television stations.

According to Obi, “this certificate is proudly presented to Ubah Ugochukwu Steve in recognition of your creativity and visionary service to your community. Your remarkable skill and contribution stand out in Owerri West, Imo State, Nigeria – having excelled as a creative broadcast producer and video editor from the Imo State Broadcasting Corporation (Orient FM/TV)- having extended your wealth of experience to your community’s development”.

“Ubah, by his profile, started with Minaj Broadcast International in 2003 as a casual worker where he was influenced into the electronic media.

“He studied at the Pencils Films and Television Institute, Lagos State, in 2007, did his Industrial Training in African Independent Television (AIT) in 2008 before landing his first job with Fidelis Duker’s Fad Production as a video editor and producer in 2009.

“Ubah also moved to Portharcourt where he worked with Judu TV and Betty Pride as a producer and video editor. He studied Political Science at the University of Nigeria. He has passion for entertainment hence he uses his platform to promote Imo entertainers. 

“Also, he uses his position in the media to inform government about dilapidated roads Imo State particularly his community, Okuku, through the production of documentaries which yielded a positive result. As a public figure, he has not relented in inspiring young persons with his charismatic figure and selfless service to humanity”.

Responding, Ubah, who was also honored at the E-Celeb Awards 2018 for promoting entertainment in South East of Nigeria, vowed that he would intensify positive impact to the society, particularly his community, eulogizing Hope4ouryouth Foundation USA/Nigeria Founder, Esorochukwu Phil Obi and Executive Chairman of Owerri West Council, Hon. Victor Osuigwe, for the laudable feat of discovering persons with extraordinary talents and lifting them to stardom.
