
Owerri Sports Club held its Christmas party and the induction ceremony of new members on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The glamorous event which has also very entertaining, was held at the elitist and prestigious club’s premises was also attended by children who had fun before they left for the commencement of the induction ceremony and the main event for adults.
President of the club, Sir Uchenna Nwokeji (KSJI) and members of his executive were on hand to ensure that the event was not only successful but hitch-free.
The opening prayer said by Trustee Engr Dr Leo Okereke, kick-started by the establishment of protocols by the President, Comrade Uchenna Nwokeji (KSJI), and the breaking of kolanuts which was also performed by Trustee Engr Leo Okereke.
Thereafter, new members of the club who expressed joy and excitement for being members of the elitist club were inducted.
Those inducted at the high profile event include, Dr. Christian Nwosu, Mr Eric Babajide Lafinhan, Ms Kelechi Nwaenekwu- Nmasinachi, Dr. Sir Nwanneako Sabinus Nnamdi, Mr Obioma Obasi Amaechi, Chief Cyril Chukwukere Mbaeri, Mrs Floxy Chibuzo Okoronkwo, Dr Casmir Uzochukwu Nwaoke, Mrs Onukogu Abigail Obiageli, Hon. Sir Vital Ikechi Opara, Engr Ogbonnia Chukwu – Urum, Engr. Lukpata Daniel Okeleke, Engr. Chigozie Okereke, Engr. George Ugochukwu Onyegbaduo, Nze Charles Asika Agoh, Sir Obinna Mbonu, Chief Barrister Major Ejikeme Chuks Emenike and Mr Austin Ndukaku Maduako.
High Chief, Nze, Prof. Goddy Nkem Onuoha- Ebubedike was sworn in as a Trustee of the Club. He was successfully elected to the exalted position during the last general meeting of the Club. By virtue of this development, he is now the ninth Trustee of Owerri Sports Club.
Other Trustees of the Club are Sir Tony Ezenna, Rt. Hon. Jonas Okeke, Barrister Jude Ikechukwu Ogamba, Barrister Dr. Osita Nwosu, Engr. Sir Leo Okereke, Engr. Dr. Nathaniel Ikechukwu Nwagbuda, Apostle Innocent Aguleke and Barrister Chief Malachy Nwaiwu.
This year’s Christmas party described by many as the best in the history of the club lived upto expectation in all ramifications.
Different kinds of drinks and delicacies were served Quality music from the musical desk of a quality DJ ensured there was no dull moments. Those who could dance did so with relish.
A Choir was also on hand and churned out melodious Christmas songs, reminding all that the Yelutide season is here.
Attendance was impressive and indeed unprecedented in the annals of the Christmas Parties in the Club. It ended in praise to the glory of God.
