To avoid more lost of lives and property in Ukugba Obiakpu and environs in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo State, the family of the murdered twins has appealed to the Police to thoroughly investigate, as well as arrest killers of the twins and others to ensure justice.
The family who said it has been living in fear even outside its ancestral home which it regretted was burnt by the said persons, equally asked the Police to protect them from being eliminated.
The bereaved family made the appeal through John Maduakolam, the biological father of the gruesomely murdered twins, while speaking to journalists in Owerri, on Monday.
“I appreciate the Nigeria Police for doing a good job and upholding justice which actually shows that nobody no matter how rich and highly placed is above the law. I appeal to Police to go after Sixtus Chinenye Odinaka’s gang who are in the bush and still terrorizing Obiakpu Egbema and its environs”, the family appealed.
He explained that his twin sons: Izuchukwu Madukolam Jacob (who was killed on 7th of February 2025) and Ebube Maduakolam Jacob (who was killed on 12th September 2025, in Obiakpu) and others too numerous to mention, were allegedly murdered by Sixtus Chinenye Odinaka (an indigene of Obiakpu, who was declared wanted by the Police over his alleged nefarious activities) for no provocation.
The beareved father said “his life and those of the members of his family are in grave danger as the alleged killers came back and burnt his house.
“The matter was reported to Police and Police started to look for him and he evaded arrest, then police and court declared him wanted and published it on newspaper.
“On September 12, 2025, at about 2 am, Sixtus and his gang came again and attacked John Maduakolam and family and brutally murdered his second twin son, Ebube Maduakolam Jacob and cut off his head.
“John Maduakolam’s nephew, Opara Abacha, was killed and his wife, Chinweudo Abacha, was severely butchered and was rushed to hospital where she survived”, the family added.
Efforts made to hear from the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Henry Okoye, was unsuccessful.
