All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has alleged that Governor Hope Uzodimma is forcing Civil Servants in Imo State to register with the APC, a party it said has caused so much pain, hardship and suffering in the state, given to what it termed as bad governance, being saturated with endemic corruption.

Hence, APGA, known to be a party that projects and defends Igbo social, political and economic interests, advised the Governor to allow the Civil Servants be, saying his action is undemocratic and infantile.

The party gave this advise through its State Chairman, Hon. John Iwuala, in a release signed and made available to the media in Owerri on Thursday.

“As a matte of fact, it is never done in any sane society, as no one forces any individual to join a particular politicial party in a democratic society.

“Therefore, we encourage Imo citizens, never to support the one party system of President Tinubu and the present Imo State Government. Civil Servants do not play partisan politics in any sane clime. Imo State Government is very wrong to mandate any Civil Servant to register in any politiial party.

“It is unacceptable and provocative. It is also gross violation of peoples’ fundamental human rights. Therefore, ndi Imo should not tolerate such.

“The 2027 election is the time Imolites should stand strong to right the wrongs. And no one should be intimidated in any way, or forced to belong to APC or any politicial party.

“If APC is really doing well under Uzodinma, the scorecard is what will encourage the citizens to vote his party, come 2027. But if the government is undemocratic and insensitive to the lives and property of the citizens, Imo electorate have no option than to vote APC out.

“Therefore, ndi Imo should be wiser and smarter in making any decision, come 2027. Mandating any Civil Servant to register in any politicial party is undemocratic. Therefore, the present Imo government should have a rethink”, the party cautioned.
