-ORDAINS MINISTERS, LEVITES, ELDERS, MOTHERS.

By Martin Opara

It was indeed a well coordinated period of ministrations, indepth exposition of the word of God and spiritual rejuvenation as Supreme Light of Yaweh Sabbath Synagogue with headquarters at Nempi, in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo state and branches in different cities including Owerri, the state capital celebrated it’s 2026 annual Feast of Passover and unleavened bread in grand style from 1st to 8th April 2026.

Speaking on the significance of the dual event which comprises the one-day feast of Passover and the seven-day feast of unleavened bread, the Prelate of the synagogue, High Priest Ezeanochie C. Elijah, said, “it is in line with biblical injunction as recorded in Exodus, chapter 23, Deuteronomy 16, from verse 12 and Leviticus 23, from verse 4, where the Almighty Yaweh emphatically commanded that  we should celebrate the feast alongside all members of our. respectuve households including our visitors as a mark of covenant between him and we, his chosen people from generation to generation “The feast also commemorates the exit of the people of Israel from bondage in Egypt”

Responding to a question about the significance of the ram that is often slaughtered, roasted and eaten on the first day of the feast, High Priest  Ezeanochie, a renowned prophet who is highly respected for his incontrovertible prophesies and responsive solutions through which many afflicted persons have at various times been liberated from the shackles of different kinds of spiritual aukments including infirmity, disease, barrenness, poverty, stagnation and marital problems among others, said, “Yaweh assured us just like he did for the Israelites in the bible that at the sight of the blood of the ram on our door posts, death, destruction, sickness, disease and all kinds of negative vibrations will pass over us. It is therefore a kind of annual divine immunity for those who faithfully believe.”

Commenting on the state of the nation and the prevailing social-economic challenges, the clergy man said, ” with the way things are now, the best thing for humanity to do is to seek the face of the Almighty God in spirit and in truth because He alone can turn around the situation. There is also the need for all and sundry to show love to one another, seek peace, unity and mutual co-existence. Let us strive to avoid bitterness, rancour and acrimony that will not only pollute our physical and spiritual wellbeing but also worsen the bad situation that we are already facing.

One of the cardinal activities at this year’s feast was the ordination of some deserving members, which the Priest described as a call to duty or rather, higher responsibility. According to him, ” to whom much is given, much is expected” Some of those who were ordained include, Ministers, Levites, Elders and Mother’s.

A prominent and committed member, Elder Uchenna Obinero and his amiable wife Mrs Chidimna Obinero, who was ordained as a Mother expressed delight that she was among those ordained. They also thanked God for keeping them, their children, loved ones and all members of the Synagogue and their respective families alive to celebrate this year’s feasts of Passover and unleavened bread. The couple commended the High Priest for the good works that the Almighty Yaweh is using him to do for humanity. They prayed that God continues to guide, protect and bless him and the entire members with good health, long life and prosperity.
