……Chike Okafor, Miriam Onuoha, Others Denied Tickets
The member representing Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tochukwu Okere, fondly called TOSKA by his constituents and numerous supporters who hold him in high esteem, has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Owerri Federal Constituency.
Some constituents who spoke on the development expressed delight, describing it as being in line with the wishes of the people. According to them, “TOSKA has given a good account of himself by changing the narrative of representation in Owerri Federal Constituency.
The number of bills and motions to his credit, in addition to the landmark achievements he has recorded so far in the area of people-oriented constituency projects located in different communities, has distinguished him as one who is passionately committed to enhancing the welfare of his constituents.”
Others who spoke to this reporter on condition of anonymity commended the lawmaker for his humility and open-door policy. According to them, “Giving Hon. Okere the party’s ticket for a second tenure in office has given credence to the age-long dictum that the reward for good work is more work.
This should teach some of his colleagues that sycophancy and playing to the gallery do not guarantee political relevance. Rather, prioritizing the people’s welfare is the key. Now that TOSKA has secured the party’s ticket, we will mobilize support and throw our weight behind him to ensure that he wins the election.”
They also expressed shock that Hon. Chike Okafor, Miriam Onuoha, and others who are already serving their second or third tenures were denied tickets despite eulogizing and singing the praises of Governor Hope Uzodinma, as captured in a trending video clip.
