…Urges Govt, Police To Improve Security
By Ikenna Orioha
A nursing mother, of about 47 years of age, who escaped from hoodlums, operating as Organ Harvesters, who did not want her name in print, had urged the Government of Imo State, Police, Army and other Security Personnel to improve security in the nooks and crannies of the state to save lives of vulnerable people.
The victim, who boldly narrated her ordeal to the media few days after she escaped from the dungeon of death, called on the government and security agencies to stop treating banditry and insecurity with carrot stick otherwise crime and destruction of life would degenerate.
She regretted that the bandits: Organ Harvesters and Kidnappers are having field day in Imo State because the security agencies are not proactive, as they are busy estorting money from hapless road users, as well as invading boys in the streets and homes in the guise of Yahoo Yahoo.
“Im a nursing mother, of 47 years of age. I did not want to mention my name. Two months ago, I entered a mini bus from MCC, Uratta, to get to a market at Douglas in Owerri metropolis in order to locate my maid whom I sent on errand, only to see myself in a bush in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.
“There, at the dreaded house located in a thick bush in Okigwe, I saw my legs and my hands severely tied with a thick rope. My eyes were also covered with a black cloth, just as other numerous victims.
“We begged for our lives, to be freed, to no avail. The bandits and organ harvesters kept on bringing in more victims from all corners of Imo, Abia and Enugu States.
“We saw many rich men who were there bargaining with the hoodlums and organ harvesters. The bandits choicely took any victim they rich men pointed at away and slaughtered them, cut them into parts. The victims they preferred most were victims who were huge with subtle bodies, but I was only spared for a while because I was not huge, including two other persons.
“I kept on praying in my heart. I was very courageous enough to shout “Jesus”. The hoodlums and organ harvesters started having issues and altercations among themselves and left.
“I and two other victims who were left there, because of our lankiness took to our heels. While scampering for safety, I luckily saw a man riding a bike who had pitty on me and lifted me.
“That was how I miraculously escaped from the organ harvesters. The other persons also went their separate ways, scampering for safety also.
“I stayed two days in the dungeon. Two days after I had escaped, the charm was still tormenting me. My husband then gave me a hot slap which sent me to sleep and I woke up the next day fully okay. I started praising God again for saving my life.
“Many lives had been destroyed by evil people on Organ Harvesting and other Ritual Sacrifices.
“Hence, I advise people to be prayerful, go with much carefulness and weigh any vehicle before entering. The hoodlums and organ harvesters always go with men and a lady or two some times to deceive passengers.
“I call on the Imo State Government, army, police, civil defense and other security personnel to rise to the occasion to save lives. All the bushes in the nooks and crannies of Imo State should be thoroughly combed or searched.
“Evil rich persons should be monitored and investigated because they are the people who evilly and mainly engineer organ harvesting, kidnapping and other heinous crimes”, the victim stressed.
