There was jubilation in Amaulu, Ihitte Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, as the Dominic Orindunekwu Ogaziechi Empowerment Foundation, a non-profit organisation, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a library, science laboratories, and an examination hall at Community Secondary School, Amaulu.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Dominic Orindunekwu Ogaziechi Educational Complex took place at the school premises last Thursday and attracted a large gathering of community leaders, government officials, education stakeholders, and residents from within and outside the community.

Speaking during the event, the facilitator of the project, Ada Dom Ogaziechi (Ada Mbieri), said the initiative was conceived to provide students in Amaulu and neighbouring communities with access to quality secondary education and a conducive learning environment.

According to her, the facilities, which are being built to meet modern educational standards, will equip students with the resources required to excel academically while inspiring them to pursue excellence and become responsible members of society.”As we lay this foundation, may we also reaffirm our commitment to the values of service, compassion and educational advancement that defined our father’s life. Together, we are not merely constructing buildings; we are building hope and empowering young minds,” she said.

Ogaziechi explained that the Foundation’s interventions are focused on education and literacy, youth empowerment, community development, and social impact. She urged the students to remain committed to their studies and make effective use of the facilities when completed in order to attain academic excellence and contribute meaningfully to society.

She further noted that the project is dedicated to the lasting memory of her late father, Dominic Orindunekwu Ogaziechi, whom she described as a firm believer in education as one of the greatest gifts that can be given to any individual and the surest pathway to personal growth, community development, and sustainable societal progress. She also encouraged individuals and organisations to invest in community-based projects that promote development.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and APC chieftain, Barr. Marcellinus Nlemigbo, commended Ada Dom Ogaziechi for her patriotic commitment to education and youth development, describing the project as a landmark intervention that would positively shape the future of young people in the community.

Also speaking, the President-General of Amaulu Town Union, Austin Egejuru, described the project as a rare sacrifice and a demonstration of genuine commitment to the educational advancement of the community. He praised Ogaziechi for her generosity, vision, patriotism, and unwavering dedication to human capital development.
