– Donates Equipment To University
The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) Alumni Association has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ikechukwu Nosike Dozie, congratulating him on his emergence as the 9th substantive Vice-Chancellor of FUTO and pledging its full support for his administration.
The delegation was led by the National President of the Association, Engr. Prof. Laz Uzoechi, and included the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), Chief Engr. Chibuike Achigbu; a high-ranking BOT member, Chief Victor Ijeh; and a former BOT member, Engr. Prof. Damian Dike.
Also present were executive members and other distinguished members of the Association drawn from across the country.
The Alumni Association expressed delight over the emergence of Prof. Dozie as Vice-Chancellor and pledged its unalloyed support and partnership towards the success of his administration.
The Association particularly appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for appointing members of the Alumni Association as Deputy Vice-Chancellors of the University, namely Engr. Prof. Remy Uche, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and Prof. E. B. Etuk, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Development and Innovation), describing the appointments as a demonstration of confidence in the University’s alumni community.
As part of its commitment to supporting the University, the Alumni Association donated whiteboards and Public Address Systems (PAS) for use in large lecture halls and auditoriums across the campus. The delegation also presented a congratulatory plaque to the Vice-Chancellor.
Responding, Prof. Dozie thanked the Alumni Association for the visit and its continued commitment to the advancement of FUTO.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed his administration’s deep respect for the FUTO Alumni Association, noting that the Association remains an important stakeholder and partner in the University’s development.
He pledged to strengthen collaboration with the Alumni Association while commending its members for their support and various contributions towards the growth and advancement of the University.

Etuk; University Registrar, Mr. Chiedozie Uba; Bursar, Mrs. Ebere Nwadike; and University Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Justina Ekere.
