Isu Nation (Registered) has declared that it has neither screened nor endorsed any candidate of the various political parties for elective positions that concern or affect Isu Nation, dismissing any suggestion that the organisation has adopted candidates ahead of forthcoming elections.
The organisation in a release signed by its national President,Rt.Hon Okey Dike, made this clarification in a disclaimer issued to set the record straight and prevent any misunderstanding regarding its position on political candidates seeking elective offices within its area of interest.
According to the disclaimer, Isu Nation comprises Nkwerre, Isu, Nwangele and Njaba Local Government Areas, as well as parts of Orlu Local Government Area, all in Imo State.
The organisation stressed that it has not conducted any screening exercise or issued an endorsement in favour of candidates belonging to any political party for positions involving the Isu Nation people.
The clarification is significant in view of the need to distinguish the organisation’s institutional position from the political interests, declarations or activities of individuals and groups who may seek to associate themselves with its name.
Isu Nation’s disclaimer, therefore, makes it clear that no candidate should be presented as having received the organisation’s official screening approval or endorsement on the basis of any purported decision attributed to it.
The organisation’s leadership comprises Rt. Hon. Okechukwu Dike (Ikeoha), President; Hon. Barr. Ifeanyi Olumba, Vice President; and Barr. Sir Austin Otuokere, Secretary.
