The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Nze Emeka Ojure-Amadi, has described the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Oguta State Constituency, Barr. Vivian Ottih, as a credible, reliable and competent candidate capable of providing effective representation.

Ojure-Amadi made the remarks after a stakeholders’ meeting of elders held recently in Oguta, where he urged the electorate to critically assess candidates contesting for the Oguta State Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He encouraged the people to prioritise competence, credibility and the capacity to deliver democratic dividends, rather than voting solely on the basis of party structures and decisions.

According to him, the era of electing candidates without properly evaluating their qualifications and ability to represent the people should give way to issue-based political choices that reflect the aspirations of the electorate.

The Oguta PDP chairman called on voters to look inward, assess the available candidates and make informed decisions at the polls.

He expressed confidence that Barr. Vivian Ottih, if elected into the 11th Imo State House of Assembly, would provide stronger and more effective representation for Oguta State Constituency.

Ojure-Amadi further maintained that Oguta had not enjoyed what he considered fair and adequate representation over the years, expressing optimism that Ottih’s emergence would bring renewed legislative engagement and improved attention to the constituency’s needs.

He used the opportunity to appeal to eligible voters and political stakeholders to participate actively in the electoral process and support candidates they believe possess the competence and credibility to serve.

The PDP chairman expressed confidence in Ottih’s electoral prospects, stating that she stood a better chance of winning the Oguta State Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

His endorsement adds to the political conversations surrounding the forthcoming Imo State Assembly election, as candidates and parties seek to convince voters with their credentials, programmes and capacity for effective representation.
