According to a source, the Permanent Secretary, whose tenure had elapsed, but was elongated by the state government, was described by indigenes of his Ndioha Owerri, Amucha community in Njaba LGA of the state, as a nice and unassuming man.

Some staff of the ministry, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said “it is not yet known, if his kidnap is linked to the unresolved pension scam presently rocking the state. You know the local government councils are responsible for the payment of pensions. Though we are not sure, he may have been kidnapped for being in possession of vital information some people wish to suppress”.
