Rolls out Xmas largesse as part of its corporate social responsibilities

In fulfillment of their corporate social responsibilities and also as a way of giving back to the society, the management and staff of R & S lotto, a major gamble and betting company in Nigeria, has visited some notable motherless and orphanage homes in the state namely, the Red Cross Motherless Babies’ Home, Emekuku Motherless and Orphanage Home and Holy Sisters of the Needy, Okwu Uratta in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo state. The visits were to offer the in mates some succor and a sense of belonging during these yuletide season.

 

The three motherless babies’ homes received many edible items from the management team of R & S lotto, led by Mr. Khalil Khawa, including toiletries, two bags of rice, two jerry-cans of both red and groundnut oil. Other items donated include jerry-cans of 10 liters liquid soap, two cartons of golden penny flour and spaghetti noodles. A bag of crayfish each, and a bag of sweet potatoes as well as many tubers of yams and 10kg white washing detergent.

In their separate remarks of appreciation, remarks, Mrs. Udoka Ogu of Red Cross Motherless Babies Home Owerri, and Rev. Sister Jaon Mary Akagu of the congregation of Handmaids of Holy Child Jesus in Mount Carmel Catholic Cathedral Emekuku as well as the matron of Holy Family sisters of the Needy Okwu Uratta, Owerri North LGA, Sister Ogonna Obi thanked R & S lotto limited, management and staff for the donations and promised to put the items into judicious use especially, in for the interest of the in mates.

The highlight of the visits was the group photographs and prayer sessions offered for the company by the children of the three motherless and orphanage homes.

Addressing journalists shortly after the visits last Tuesday, 19 December 2017, the leader of the team, Mr. Kahlil Khawan said it has been an annual event in line with the company’s policy and its social corporate responsibility to put smile on the faces of the less privileged and vulnerable ones in the society. According to him, it does not make any meaning, ifthe rich are enjoying and the poor are crying.

He therefore used the medium to call on individuals and corporate organizations as well as government agencies who have the means and resources, to always remember the less privileged, mostly those that lack care. Mr. Khawan also stated that R & S lotto Ltd has done much in the area of sports and tournament sponsorship and envisages that “Imo state youths will soon benefit from some of their laudable gestures”.

Also speaking, the Public Relations Officer of R & S lotto limited in Imo state, Public Relations Officer, Hon. Anselem Nzeocha described R & S lotto limited as a company with passion not only to make its customers rich but also to serve both the public and humanities. He stated that visiting motherless babies homes has remained an annual event for the company and asked for Imo state government partnership, to enable R & S lotto serve the state better.
